About types of files

MKV

MKV is a flexible, open-source video format designed to hold multiple streams of video, audio, and even subtitles within a single file.

It's often used for high-quality video and is popular among media enthusiasts for streaming or downloading movies and TV shows.

The Matroska Video or MKV supports many features that other formats don't, but it may not be as widely compatible with all devices, requiring specific media players like VLC.

For example, even Adobe Premiere Pro one of the most successful editing software in the market does not support this format natively.

WAV

WAV is an uncompressed audio format that provides the best possible sound quality, often used in professional audio recording and editing.

Unlike compressed formats like MP3 or AAC, WAV files are large and not ideal for streaming or sharing online.

However, they are preferred for high-fidelity recordings, making them the go-to format for audiophiles and professionals in the music industry.
